Lighthouse Project
In June of 2009, South Umpqua was chosen as 1 of 3 school districts in Oregon to participate in the Lighthouse Project, a research–based training designed to help school boards and administrators develop the proper partnership and leadership strategies that lead to higher student achievement.

South Umpqua's School District blueprint for educational reform. In a move to unify education practices and obtain measurable results through; District Priorities, Guiding Questions, Key Strategies, Conditions for Productive Change, and the role of the School Board for improving student learning.
