WINTER BALL – Our annual Christmas dance, or Winter Ball, will be next Friday night on December 13th from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Skyawk Room. Admission to the dance is $4.00 and food will be $1.00. This is a special semi-formal event where we get to dress up and have a fun time celebrating the holiday season.

HORNET BASKETBALL – Our 7th and 8th grade hornet basketball teams are hitting the road today to JoLane Middle School to take the court against JoLane Red. Boys, your game bus will be leaving at 3:00 this afternoon and the 7th grade game will begin at 4:00 with the 8th grade playing immediately after.

CANNED FOOD DRIVE – We have an update, hornets on our canned food drive and boy is it a great one! We have currently collected 555 non-perishable food items! Who’s in the lead you ask? Well…in 3rd place is Mrs. Lind, 2nd place goes to Mrs. Lent, and the first period class in 1st place right now is Ms. Edwards! Hornets, you have until Friday this week to bring in those cans and knock these teachers out of the running for fabulous prizes! The whole student body has earned their first goal of a “sweet treat” – way to go! Now let’s see if we can make it to 750 items for a Can Dance!

LOCKERS – Students, please use your lockers. Especially when you want to go down to lunch. We are having students just leave their binders and books laying about to make it to the lunch line and it’s not okay. Please take the few moments to put your things in your locker BEFORE you go down to lunch.

HOLIDAY SPIRIT WEEK – Okay, it’s time to start thinking about and planning what you are going to wear during our Holiday Spirit Week happening the week of December 16-20. Monday is a new theme for us called Christmas Gift Day; where you dress up like a Christmas present with all the trimmings and trappings – just get creative! Tuesday is Red & Green Day so where as much Christmas red and green that you can muster. Wednesday is Santa’s Helper Day; so pop on your elf hat or slip on your reindeer antlers. Thursday is Christmas Morning Day where you can wear your jammies but always remember to wear regular shoes (no slippers) and mind the dress code. Friday is a favorite – Ugly Christmas Sweaters! Deck the halls with the ugliest and tackiest holiday sweater you have got or borrow your grandma’s! We will choose a winner in each grade for the Ugliest Christmas Sweater and annouce them at the assembly on Friday afternoon!
