Exploring the Trades Camp – This is an amazing camp at Phoenix Charter school in Roseburg where students can learn about great opportunities in highway construction, plumbing, and carpentry; with great hands-on workshops. Stop by Shirley’s office and get a flyer about this great opportunity!

Principal’s List – If you are a hornet on the Principal’s List, come by the office and pick-up your free pizza ticket from Abby’s!

After-School Help – There will be not “after-school help” today – all students must leave campus at the 2:15 bell.

Partner Sports Camp – Information is at the office for the YMCA Partner Sports Camp. This is a great opportunity to work with students with disabilities as they attend an action packed summer camp!

SUHS Cheer Try-Outs – The try-outs for South Umpqua Cheerleading will be held at the high school in the multi-purpose room May 31st – June 2nd.  Come by the office and pick-up an information form with all the details!

Summer Day Camp Opportunity – There is a great program offered by Expanding Horizons with the OSU mobile science lab from July 11-15 at the Myrtle Creek Elementary “intermediate” building. This camp is FREE – all you need to do is sign-up online. Come by the office and grab a flyer with all the great information. There will be solar cars, wind and wave powered projects, catapults, and so much more. This camp is for students in 5-8 grades. Don’t miss out!!

Free Family Bowling – On Sunday, June 12th, the Nickel Bowl will be hosting a “Free Family Bowling” day from noon to 5:00pm at the Nickel Bowl. This is a great family event sponsored by the Myrtle Creek Elks Lodge.

Hornet Football! – It’s time to sign-up for fall football! Boys who will be in the 7th or 8th grade next year can stop by Shirley’s office and sign-up to play football next year at Coffenberry. There will be meeting for boys who will be in the 7th grade next year and want to play football today with Coach Bennett in the gym during Reading Rocks.

Summer Reading Challenge Hey hornets here is an update on the number of reading minutes logged onto the computer from Coffenberry as of Friday. 6th Grade 695 minutes 7th grade 2165 minutes and 8th grade 0. Total for our school 2860 minutes. We are ranked 724. Make sure to log your minutes online so our school can win the Scholastic World Record for number of minutes read. All minutes read in Reading Rocks count, so log them! See Mrs. Gale if you need help getting logged into your account.

All library books are due on Wednesday, June 1st after Reading Rocks!! Please don’t be late. If you would like to check out library books for the summer make sure you pick up a permission slip in the library. 8th graders are welcome to check out as well.
