Spelling Bee – If you are interested in studying for our spelling bee this year, please pick up a list of words from Mrs. Gale in the library.
Battle of the Book – We will be meeting this Friday, December 9th, in Mrs. Lent’s room during lunch.
In-Door Soccer – Middle school students are invited to soccer “open gym” beginning this Friday from 4-5:30 pm at Tri City Elementary School. Even if you have never played soccer, you are invited to participate. Bring indoor shoes and a great attitude.
Christmas Dance – Santa Simpson is going to be spinning the Christmas tunes on Friday night at our annual Christmas Dance! We will be rockin’ around the Christmas tree in the Skyhawk room from 5:30 to 7:30. There will be pizza, candy, and soda to purchase to snack on. Admission to this holiday event is $4.00 at the door, $3.00 with a student body card, and $2.00 with a HHH card.
Canned Food Drive – Bring in those cans!!! This is the last week of the Elk’s Lodge holiday canned food drive! They will be collecting the cans on Friday morning! We want to have collected more cans than all the other schools in our district. If every student brings in one can or boxed food item – we will be well on our way to winning! The winning school gets $100.00 from the Elk’s Lodge! Let’s show our community how much our student body cares, show the hornet Christmas spirit, and bring in those cans!
MCE Santa Store – Coffenberry students will be able to shop at the Myrtle Creek Elementary Santa Shop on Thursday, December 8th, at lunch free time. This is a great time to buy Christmas gifts for your parents, brother and sisters, or friends – and everything is just $1.50! The Santa Store will be held in the MCE DLC building.
Christmas Grams – Tristan Woodbeck is selling Christmas Grams to help fund his trip to Washington D.C.. The Christmas Grams are $.50 a piece and may be purchased at Shirley’s office. You can send one to your friends, teachers, etc. The Christmas Gram includes a gift tag and candy cane. Christmas grams will be for sale today, tomorrow, Friday, and next Monday. The Christmas Grams will be delivered to your Reading Rocks class on Thursday, December 15th.
Holiday Spirit Week! Next week is our Holiday Spirit Week. Each day has a fun theme! Monday – RED DAY (everybody wear Christmas red), Tuesday – GREEN DAY (everyone wear Christmas green, Wednesday – X-MAS MORNING (wear your jammies!), Thursday – SANTA’S HELPER (reindeer or elf gear), Friday – UGLY SWEATER (wear your tackiest Christmas sweater!)
