Valentine’s Dance – Friday, February 8th, is our “Queen of Hearts” Valentine dance in the Skyhawk Room from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Ladies, remember that this is a Sadie Hawkins dance, so it’s your turn to ask the boys to the dance.
Reaching Higher – The Reaching Higher application deadline is fast approaching 8th graders! Have you filled yours out yet and turned in it? This is a great opportunity to take advantage of some amazing activities that will help you be even more successful and even have some fun! Get them turned in by tomorrow to Ms. Smith.
Wet and Rainy – The weather is pretty wet out there and hopefully it will stay that way for a while because we really need the rain! However, we also need our hornets to take a moment when they come in from outside to wipe their feet on the matts in front of the doors. Please remember to be careful when walking outside to classes or to/from lunch so that you do not slip in the rain.
Lady Hornets – The lady hornets have their second game of the season today against Fremont Blue at Fremont Middle School. The game bus will be leaving this afternoon at 3:00 with tip-off starting at 4:00pm. Good luck ladies and bring home the wins!
Word of the Week – This is a word for a very positive emotion that has to do with being thoughtful and decent. Giving to a charity takes compassion. Volunteering to work with sick people or animals takes compassion. When you have compassion, you’re putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and really feeling for them. Anytime a disaster like a hurricane or earthquake hits, others will feel compassion for the victims. When you feel compassion for someone, you really want to help out.
