HONOR ROLL – Peggy has the honor roll up at her office! Stop by and see if you are on it and grab an honor roll sheet to take home to show your family! This first quarter of school we had 184 hornets make the honor roll! Way to go! It has been years since we have seen numbers like that!! Keep up the good work as we continue on through this second quarter. Let’s add more students to that list of hornets with outstanding grades. Good grades pay off!!

CANNED FOOD DRIVE – Look around at your first period class right now? Did you bring in any canned or boxed food items? Did your classmates? Our school goal is 1,000 non-perishable food items. What’s in it for us, you might ask? Well…with 1,000 items brought in the whole student body will win an ice cream party and the winning first period class with the most items brought in will be able to decorate our principal, Ms. Smith, as an ice cream sundae; complete with fudge, strawberry sauce and whipped cream! Keep track of the canned food progress with the goal thermometer by Peggy’s office.

VETERAN’S DAY – There will be no school on Monday, November 11th. All schools and public offices are closed for the Veteran’s Day holiday. What is Veteran’s Day? It is the day where we recognize and honor all those who are have served in our nation’s military; both presently and in the past. You will see flags out with banks, schools, and post offices closed. Please remember to thank those who you know personally that have served our country in the military.

WHAT’S FOR LUNCH TODAY? Golden chicken and waffles or variety bar
