We are busy bees here at Coffenberry in the month of June; closing out this school year and getting ready for our students’ return in late August. Here is what we have been up to….
New Principal – Our brightest new face here on campus is our new principal, Laurie Collins. Mrs. Collins has been with the school district for 19 years, grew up in Myrtle Creek, and has raised her children here, as well. We are excited to have her return to Coffenberry as the principal and look forward to her leadership and ideas that she puts into practice here at Coffenberry.
New Staff – We are happy to announce that we are adding three new teachers to our Coffenberry family. Jessica McClean is our new english teacher, Conor Ligoure will be teaching math, and our new band director is Jeffrey Soffer.
New Look – The interior of the main building is getting a face lift. Our crew has been busy changing the color scheme in our halls with fresh paint and cork board to display students’ amazing art work and assignments. We are excited to share this new look with our students when they return in the fall. Our art teacher, Mrs. Mullins, has also given our art room a fresh new look.
New Coaches – We have added to our coaching staff and we are very excited about it! Shani Bunnell will be coaching our 8th grade girls volleyball team and Emilee Mueller will be coaching our 7th grade girls volleyball team. Our 8th grade boys football coach is Bo Lamm and his assistant coach is James Simmons. (Returning 7th grade football coaches: Kevin Hubbard and Tony Smedley). Coffenberry’s new 8th grade boys basketball coach is Jack Ball and coaching 7th grade girls basektball is Kim Whetzel. (Returning basketball coach is Rick Dewitt)
Open Gym – At this time, there is no open gym scheduled for our volleyball teams. Keep checking this website and/or facebook for update on open gym dates and times.
Dates You Should Know – Registration for the 2017/2018 school year will be on Tuesday, August 8th, from 8am to 3pm. Registration packets will be sent out to you by mail the last week in July. The Coffenberry office is closed during the month of July. Volleyball and football practice begins on August 14th.
We hope you are having a safe and super summer so far! Enjoy all the activities available to you this summer from camps, swimming, skating, Myrtle Creek Summer Festival, Music in the Park, Sawdust Jubliee, etc.
