Book Fair The book fair will be open today until 11:00 am. Please make sure you make your purchases before then. If it is ok with your teachers you may come down during class time to purchase also.WE HAVE 2 WINNERS!!! Our first winner correctly guessed how many coins were in the wishing well that is located in the library. The correct number was 137 and Eralyn Reed was exactly correct. Congratulations Eralyn! Come to the library to claim your prize. We also have a teacher winner from our staff drawing and Mrs. Smolensky is our staff winner! Congratulation Mrs. Smolensky you get to pick any book from the fair.
Battle of Books If you would like to be a part of the battle of the book team this year or want to find out what it is all about please stop by the library and get signed up. Our first meeting will be Friday, October 5th during lunch in Mrs. Lent’s room.
Family Night – Don’t forget hornets, tomorrow night is family night here from 5:30 to 7:30pm and it will definitely be a fun evening for you and your family.
Snack Bar – The FBLA Snack Bar is now open during break time in Room 10 in the main hall. Come check it out!
South Umpqua Mat Organization – SUMO season begins is almost here and registeration is Monday, October 1st at SUHS from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Check out the flyers at the office and take one home if you are interested in wrestling.
Hornet Football – It’s game day here on campus with our hornet football teams taking on the coast teams from Millicoma. The 7th grade game begins at 4:00pm and the 8th grade game will begin immediately after. FBLA will be selling snacks at the shack this afternoon and we can’t wait to see everyone there with their school spirit.
SUHS – Middle school students that would are attending athletic events at the high school such as football, volleyball, or soccer; are able to go these events free IF you are attending with your grown-up. However, if your grown-up just drops you off for the games, you will have to pay to get in to the sporting events. Please remember hornets, that even if you are not on our school campus, you are still a middle school student representing our school and school district and your behavior should always reflect that. Please exhibit respectful and responsible behavior when you are any South Umpqua School District campus.
Cell Phones – Students, there are to be absolutely without fail – NO cell phones in the lockerrooms or restrooms. We have discussed this you as a student body and reviewed it in our student handbooks in homeroom – but this is your reminder that having a cell phone with you in the restroom or lockerroom will not be tolerated and is against the school rules; you will receive a consequence. Please leave your cell phone in your hall lockers when you go to PE and leaving the phone in the class parking lot when you go to the restroom.
