2nd Quarter! – Today is the first day of the second quarter! Do you best to get started off on the right foot this nine weeks by getting to class on time and with your binder ready to roll! Remember that you can find your schedule for the second quarter with your homeroom teacher. If you had crafts with Mrs. Smolensky last quarter, please go pick up your string art from her today during break or passing time.

Battle of the Books – We will be meeting on Friday this week during lunch in Mrs. Lent’s room.

Teen Read Week – We are celebrating Teen Read Week all week this week. You will be receiving a Teen Read Week paper in your English classes today. Any reading you do during the week counts and should be recorded on your Teen Read Week paper. If you complete 10 of the 20 tasks you will receive an invitation for a free ice cream. Other prizes will be awarded to finishers. An important note: We will be participating in Drop Everything and Read during homeroom this Wednesday. Make sure you have a book and bring it with you to homeroom.

Backpacks – Hornets, please remember that your backpacks belong in your locker, as well as your binders. The lost and found bin by the front door is NOT a locker or “holding area” for your belongings.

Hornet Basketball – The 7th and 8th grade basektball teams will be playing their first games of the season against the gold team from Fremont Middle School today at 4:00. Today’s games are here at Coffenberry and students are welcome to come and support our boys basketball teams.

Picture Re-Takes – Tim Barron Photography will be here tomorrow for picture re-takes. If you were not here at the first picture session in September, here is your opportunity to get your school pictures taken. There are not any order forms, but you can visit his website to look at packets and place your orders.

Kind and Polite – Let’s focus on the good stuff as we begin this new nine weeks. We say this a lot, but please be kind with your words and how you treat others. It really DOES matter! When someone does something nice for you – write it down and hang it up! There are forms up here at the office and your teachers have forms in their classrooms, too.

What’s for lunch today? Chicken and cheese enchiladas, hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, or nacho bar
