Tuesday, September 25, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Book Fair<\/u> <\/strong>The book fair will be open today until 11:00 am. Please make sure you make your purchases before then. If it is ok with your teachers you may come down during class time to purchase also.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Battle of Books<\/u><\/strong> If you would like to be a part of the battle of the book team this year or want to find out what it is all about please stop by the library and get signed up. Our first meeting will be Friday, October 5<sup>th<\/sup> during lunch in Mrs. Lent\u2019s room.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Night &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Don&#8217;t forget hornets, family night is on Thursday this week from 5:30 to 7:30pm and it will definitely be a fun evening for you and your family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Believe Kids Fundrasier &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>In the Believe Kids fundraiser, you have the opportunity to win some amazing items including an RC Fly &amp; Drive Dronecopter, Portable Pulse speakers, and even a Razor Euro Scooter. There are some other really cool items to earn and win as you continue to sell more and more items from the catalog or online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lady Hornets &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Today the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams will be taking their games on the road to Sutherlin. Girls, your game bus will be leaving today at 2:45pm, with games beginning at 4:00pm. Good luck to our Lady Hornets!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>High School Athletic Events &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Middle school students are welcome to attend the athletic events at the high school<\/p>\n<p><strong>SUHS &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Middle school students that would are attending athletic events at the high school such as football, volleyball, or soccer; are able to go these events free IF you are attending with your grown-up. However, if your grown-up just drops you off for the games, you will have to pay to get in to the sporting events. Please remember hornets, that even if you are not on our school campus, you are still a middle school student representing our school and school district and your behavior should always reflect that. Please exhibit respectful and responsible behavior when you are any South Umpqua School District campus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s for lunch today?\u00a0<\/strong>Mandarin orange chicken, hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, or nacho bar<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPECT &#8211;<\/strong> R E S P E C T! It&#8217;s a little word with a lot of meaning. The dictionary defines respect as a\u00a0way of treating or thinking about something or someone. If you\u00a0<em>respect<\/em>\u00a0your teacher, you admire them and treat them well. People\u00a0<em>respect<\/em>\u00a0others who are impressive for any reason, such as being in authority \u2014 like a teacher or policeman \u2014 or being older \u2014 like a grandparent. Respect is also described as admiration felt or shown for someone or something that you believe has good ideas or qualities; politeness, honour, care, and kindness. This week, let&#8217;s really pursue respect for one another and even for ourselves.
